A national DTC brand that already spanned 4-5 categories wanted to transform their product commercialization and launch efforts in order to quickly expand the portfolio and extend into new categories and channels. We came in to formalize their operations and guide them to better long-term supply chain partners that could support the growth while improving cost and quality.

The Problem

Product commercialization and operations had been largely managed by feel and the company was too exposed to single individuals knowing everything about the process. Cross-functional project management tools were not being properly utilized, information organization and sharing was lacking, and a scalable operations management system was needed in order to expand the portfolio and keep up with ever-growing complexity.

Our Approach

Starting with by digesting all existing product information and supply chain management processes, we then went to work re-organizing everything into shared folders and setting up the comunication and management structures needed in order to maintain operational data and decision making moving forward.

We built and managed quality systems, guided the team in embracing cross-functional project management tools like Asana and Figma to get project timelines and packaging graphics reviews under control, and determined where and how the supply chain would need to evolve in order to support future portfolio goals. We overhauled operational management with existing manufacturers and 3PLs, engaged new partners, implemented rapid prototyping partnerships, and in <12 months took the company to a level of operational maturity that could support 2-3x year-over-year growth.
